Almost Old
We’ll I’ve been trying to ignore it, but I’ll be 25 in just 12 days! Ok, I know I’m really young and life is good, but honestly I can’t believe I’m already 25. How time flies. These last 4 years have really gone by fast. Does our perception of the passing of time continue to increase the older we get? Maybe it does. Each year does seems shorter than the last. I guess all we can do is live each day to its fullest: Carpe Diem!
My New Calendar
I’ve started using Planzo for my calendar. It has a pretty nice user interface which allow me to add events easily, and set reminders via e-mail or even text message to my cell phone. I am still forced to use Novell GroupWise at work, but I like having my personal schedule separate and available from anywhere on the web. My plan is to eventually integrate Planzo into my website because using Planzo’s RSS feeds and open API to access my events.
Update 1/5/2006: My calendar is available on the schedule page which creates an interactive view of my Planzo calandar.
Hockey Season
Hockey season is in full swing. Chris and I saw a great game last night at the Mariucci Arena. The Gophers came back from a 2 goal deficit to win against Alaska Anchorage 4-3. They scored 3 goals in the last 9 minutes!
The game started rather slow but the Gophers persisted. Hockey is so much fun, especially in Minneapolis, because the fans are so into the game. I’m very much looking forward to seeing my first NHL game. We’re going to see the Wild play Dallas on December 19th!
Man in Black

With the help of my local library, I’ve been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash lately. I can see where a lot of other artists get some of thier inspirations. The last item I checked out is the Unearthed Boxed Set. It is a collection of many songs, recorded from 1993 to 2003, many accompanied by other great artists from Tom Petty to Fiona Apple. If you like the man in black, I’d recommend it.
Poker

I’ve taken a new interested in Poker. I played last Friday with my Friends Darrel and Eric. I wasn’t able to take home any money, but I did finish second in two out of three games. I figure it’s probably beginners luck as I have tons to learn about this game. We also played some nickle and dime games, dealer’s choice afterwards. Those are sort of fun and a good change of pace from Texas Hold ‘Em.
Last night I joined Ray and Chad for thier monthly Poker game. I played alright, but lost all the money I put up. I won two fairly big hands, but played one hand poorly and never recovered. Both nights were fun and I think the more I learn about the game, the more enjoyable it will be. It helps to win too!
