Voltron
I almost forgot about Voltron. I was reminded when I read that they are making a movie. Be sure, the movie like all the remakes these days will suck. As a kid I used watch Voltron and even had a giant mural on my bedroom wall. I’ll have to try and find a picture of it sometime. Does anyone else remember Voltron?
Joel’s Software Model
I try to keep up with Joel Spolsky’s online articles, and he released an especially good one today. His model of what it takes to make a successful software company is interesting. For the most part I have to agree with his perspective - the main point being that talented software engineers are the most important ingredient in making successful software. In some regards I think Joel confuses good marketing with software engineering, but nonetheless his point is valid and very relevant. In my own experience, I have found there are indeed a wide variety of skills and talent in the marketplace.
Zubin’s comments to this article are also worth a read.
I’m back
Wow, I haven’t been on here for awhile. It’s a good thing nobody reads this. Seriously though, I had good intentions when I started this blog but I’ve just been too busy lately to post. I’m unplugging for the weekend, going camping at the apple river in Wisconsin. It’s gonna be hot, but we won’t melt.
